Maybe I missed something but I was surprised to hear Kevin Fine doing the afternoon show on Highveld.
Nice addition to the Highveld team, think he is seriously under rated and think Highveld have done well to secure his services.

I believe that Mark Pilgrim had a mild heart attack yesterday. This hugely popular TV and Radio presenter has been one of the industry stalwarts and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Jeremy Mansfield and “Simphiwe” don’t mess around when they take a swipe at somebody…
The team made fun of Bafana Bafana and Benni McCarthy pulling out of the side. Simphiwe’s argument was that Bafana Bafana were useless anyway and the only time South Africans beat won anything was when they BEAT FOREIGNERS AT HOME….

I was driving today flicking between Jacaranda, Highveld and 5FM and it struck me that there is a hell of a lot of airtime for SA music these days. Even more rewarding is the quality of the music being played.

I have been racking my brains around Radio based competitions and I can’t think of a single competition run by a radio station, that has been as successful as The Fugitive on Highveld stereo.
Anyone else got any ideas on competitions that have kept you as gripped or intrigued on the radion?

Anybody out there entering the Highveld “Hot Jocks” contest?
What do you think of this initiative? I reckon its a great way for new entrants to get some exposure to radio and prove talent goes way beyond their CV.
