Mxit has recently come in for some flak around the disappearance of school girls who were users of the service. I’m a firm believer that the technology cannot be held responsible for the users actions.
However other parents might have other opinions.

Julio’s “Home Bru” show is something that steadily grew on me.

I believe that Gareth Cliff is currently the top SA radio presenter in terms of quality of content. It’s open to debate and I hope you guys take me up on it but I base this opinion on:
A) Shows are always entertaining
B) Nice mix of music and current events

Anybody out there entering the Highveld “Hot Jocks” contest?
What do you think of this initiative? I reckon its a great way for new entrants to get some exposure to radio and prove talent goes way beyond their CV.
Anyone out there tried out and been successful? Unsuccessful? Suggestions on how they can improve this competition?

These 2 are refreshing, young and talented (If not a bit annoying at times) and exactly what we are trying to push on this blog - talented youngsters coming through…

The SA Radio industry is at an interesting junction.
Currently there is a very small pool of radio DJ’s being circulated and rotated amongst the major stations. New entrants (both stations and presenters) are battling to find ways to break into the industry and to win market share.
