Grant and Anele on 5FM…
Posted on April 12th, 2008 by marcashton
I’m torn on this subject…
These 2 are refreshing, young and talented (If not a bit annoying at times) and exactly what we are trying to push on this blog - talented youngsters coming through…
I thought at Highveld they did an ok job without setting the world apart - give us back Revin John and LLoyd anyday! (Sigh those were the good old days)
Now they’ve moved to 5FM - I’m not so sure they are going to be quite as effective but I hope they prove me wrong

Grant & Anele are so useless it’s scary. They lack any wit, charm or intelligence.
I personally feel that by hiring them 5FM is going after the idiot demographic. When I hear Anele’s annoying voice I swap to another radio station.
Quite simply, they suck!
Being a radio presenter is an art… think the whole “Wit” thing beyond a few people….
Its not just a case of introducing songs or providing an intro for songs - its that ability to engage the audience…
Maybe its only something that comes with experience…
Mark to be honest their voices annoy me. That Joburg nasal accent is terrible and should not be put on radio!
Can’t be any blunter than that ;-)!
word cannot actually describe how much of a monumental stuff up 5fm made by hiring these two idiots!
5fm used to fill all it’s slots with DJs one could actually listen to. When both afternoon DJs voices irritate people to the point of madness, it may be time to remove them.
The best thing 5fm did was take a hour off their show.
These poor guys….
Not really finding much support out there are they?!
I dont think Grant & Anele are too bad.
But I dont think that ANYONE can ever live up to F & Martinengo’s standard - no matter who they are or how good they are. F & M were absolutely brilliant.
F & Martinengo where overrated. Two middle aged dads refering to themselves as “the bad boys”. They were the last of their generation on 5fm. Honestly I was glad to see at least one of them leave.
To each their own eh? ;o)
