The reason I ask is that I have an obsession with communications [...]

The RAW Rocks concert in association rub between Rapport and Jeremy Mansfield’s Rude Awakening team is an interesting concept in that in a time where everybody is punting “being African”, this is a concert aimed at driving Afrikaans music and culture.
Did anyone attend the 2007 event? What were your feelings on it? Afrikaans music seems [...]

I’m going to exclude the likes of Koula and Nicole Fox from this post because they’ve established personal reputations beyond simply being radio DJs. My question relates specifically to the talent of young female DJs in the industry. Who is coming through and what is their “selling point”? Kate Kearney is one who is making a [...]

In the last 7 years I don’t think I have intentionally listened to 702. Working in a different office environment for the last 6 weeks there is a guy here who puts it on while he works.
At first I thought it was going to annoy me a bit but after a half hour adjustment or [...]

We caught up with Robbie to find out a bit more about him and the varsity [...]

This morning “Whackhead” did a skit on a 419 bunch in response to an e-mail he received.
It was definately good to see some fresh material from him and it was damn funny to boot. 10 points Darren

Campus and varsity radios are a wealth of radio talent. I used to drop my brother off in Pretoria and loved to be able to get in range of the Tuks FM radio band.
In one of the earlier posts somebody commented that Robbie Cruz of Tuks was potentially the best DJ on radio at the [...]

What’s the community take on the Rude AWakening (RAW) show? Undoubtedly Jeremy Masnfield makes the show but I wonder if “Joburg’s BIGGEST Breakfast show” isn’t due for a makeover? When Jeremy isn’t around I would far rather listen to just Paul Rotheram than the rest of the team. Don’t mind Darren Simpson piping up now [...]
